Today in Baku at the joint press conference held with the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zanier Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamedyarov has stated in particular: “If the Armenian armed forces are taken out from the occupied territories, then there will neither be a problem of snipers, nor armed incidents.” In response to this statement, RA NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov has said:

“Mr Mamedyarov continuously distorts the reality characteristic to the leadership of Azerbaijan. And the reality is the following, unless Azerbaijan continues to keep some occupied territories of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh (Getashen, Martunashen, Shahumian) and to regularly open fire at the peaceful residents, including the kindergarten by the snipers, the Azerbaijani side bears the whole responsibility of the absence of the serious progress in the peaceful settlement process of the NK negotiations. Hence, there is no need to look for a cat in a dark room, when that cat is on your shoulders.”
